Desmond the Dinosaur
I wrote and illustrated my first story about Desmond the Dinosaur in 1967, after buying a wooden carving of a dinosaur. He's a rather miserable looking dinosaur, so I thought I would write a story explaining why he was sad. At the time I was running a printing company, and we decided to print my book along with some other stories. Now some thirty years later, Desmond has been reprinted with new and colourful illustrations by Sarah Wimperis. New titles will follow, including a new story, Desmond and the Bullies.

It's hard being the only dinosaur in town! Desmond longs for a friend to have fun with. Then one day, after being kind and thoughtful, he is invited to a very special party...

Desmond's going to school for the first time. He has plenty of fun, learns things too.  But when Desmond dives into the pool   the water splashes everywhere.

Desmond hurts his foot and has to have an injection! It is soon over and Desmond agrees that it didn't hurt much.

Even dinosaurs need a holiday! Desmond's having fun in France, until the monsters come to town. Then it is up to him to sort it out...
